As Environmental Officer, you are a key figure at our site in Balen. You are part of the environmental department and contribute to maintaining and improving the environmental management system, as well as internal and external reporting on environmental care, sustainability, and energy management. You ensure compliance with legislation and our internal standards.
What does the role involve:
- You supervise the SHE Supervisor responsible for managing the wastewater treatment plant, the RTO incinerator, and waste stream disposal.
- You ensure compliance with emission standards by monitoring measurements and analyses, and you investigate any deviations.
- You contribute to permit applications and the execution of environmental research projects.
- You help integrate the energy policy into the SHE management system and support projects aimed at reducing energy consumption.
- You provide advice on process improvements and equipment modifications.
- You support the ISO14001-ISO45001 safety and environmental management system, conduct internal audits, and update procedures.
- You actively contribute to a safe, sustainable, and efficient working environment.
The profile we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (a Master’s degree is a plus)
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Fluent in Dutch and English
- Accurate, clear communicator, and a true team player
- Motivated to learn and grow professionally
- Holder of a Level B Environmental Coordinator certificate or willing to obtain it
