Business Development Manager

Key responsibilities

 

  • Business Development & Market Intelligence
    • Identify and assess new business opportunities by leveraging advanced knowledge of organic chemistry and innovative technologies, including (photo-)flow chemistry.
    • Conduct continuous monitoring of scientific, technological and market developments through literature review, digital research and direct market engagement.
    • Translate technical and scientific insights into clear value propositions, feasibility assessments and business cases for ASSO.

  • Prospection & External Representation
    • Proactively prospect new customers, applications and market segments.
    • Represent ASSO at conferences, symposia, trade fairs and networking events
    • Enhance the visibility and positioning of Ajinomoto Sustainable Solutions in the market.

  • Networking & Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Build and maintain a strong professional network with customers, technology providers, research institutes, academic partners and industry associations.
    • Serve as an interface between external stakeholders and internal departments (R&D, Process Development, Operations, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial…)
    • Ensure alignment between customer needs and internal capabilities

 

    • As the role develops, the role will gradually assume Account Management responsibilities
    • Commercial ownership of newly developed customer accounts.
    • Responsibility for long-term relationship management and revenue growth.
    • Identification of portfolio expansion opportunities within existing accounts.

 

Profiel

 

  • Short-Term Requirements
  • PhD or master in  Organic Chemistry or equivalent through expertise
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify opportunities based on scientific and technological trends.
  • High level of motivation for prospecting, market exploration and opportunity development.
  • Excellent networking capabilities and the ability to establish credibility in new market environments.
